It is time for Seth Lucas to get back in the driver’s seat this weekend as he rejoins the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS at the famed Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Set to take on the 20-turn, 3.427-mile iconic circuit, Lucas will co-pilot an MDK Motorsports-prepared Porsche 911 alongside Trenton Estep. The Austin, Texas circuit is known for being the only purpose-built facility in the USA designed to host some of the premier motorsports championships in the world.
Taking the knowledge learned from the events at Sonoma Raceway that took place in March, as well as the most recent event at NOLA Motorsports Park where the duo of Lucas and Estep earned a podium result, the pair enter COTA confident and ready.
“Coming home second and earning a podium result in New Orleans just a few weeks ago has really motivated us to find the way to our first win,” expressed Lucas. “We have a great understanding of how to push the car to get the results we are looking to achieve, and the team provides us with a prepared Porsche that can battle for podiums week in and week out. Trenton and I need to put the race together and reward these guys with a win.”
COTA is the third event on the 2023 calendar in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America and kick starts a very eventful summer for Seth Lucas as he competes not only in the World Challenge program but several one-off races around the world.
“I am very excited to take on the challenge that COTA presents,” added Lucas. “Taking the driver’s seat on such an iconic track is something you never get over the feeling for and it makes me hungrier than ever to stand on the top step of the podium.”
