TOYOTA AND MOTUL USA BACKED DRIVER SETH LUCAS SET FOR SWITCH TO GT AMERICA PROGRAM

Hattori Motorsports USA, Motul USA and Toyota backed driver Seth Lucas are set to make the switch from Pirelli GT4 America to GT America effective immediately. In a decision that was made to help continue the upward trend of learning, increase green flag race laps, and provide the up and coming talent with more seat time, co-driver Matt Plumb will step out of the car to allow for the class switch in full support of Seth and his motorsports career.

“It has been a great season for both results, and my learning progress,” explained Seth Lucas, who has been competing in the Pirelli GT4 America program alongside Matt Plumb. “To constantly progress and improve our results has been fantastic, but we were missing some much needed green flag racing to help elevate that process.

“The goal from the beginning was to maximize track time for Seth in his first season of pro racing,” explained co-driver Matt Plumb. “While there are benefits to giving him real time data in GT4 with us sharing driving duties, at this point he would be better served in single driver, forty minute format. This will hopefully allow for more green flag race laps for him. I, of course, will help with testing, setup, and coaching before we reevaluate for next season what would be the best direction to take next year.”

With big plans for the future, including some additional race programs in 2022 and an increase in racing efforts in 2023, Plumb felt that this was the best road for Seth to take as he continues to turn heads in his rookie season.

Plumb continued, “Seth continues to impress with his steep learning curve. He handles pressure with a level of maturity I haven’t seen in someone so young, and it is a pleasure to be a part of it all.

Next up for Seth Lucas will be a trip to Corning, New York, and the Watkins Glen International Raceway. Now, set to do battle in the GT America program, the Motul USA branded driver will run a pair of 45-minute races solo over the July 22-24 weekend.
