With the second event of the Pirelli GT4 America season taking place this past weekend, Seth Lucas, and his co-driver Matt Plumb, along with their Hattori Motorsports outfit traveled to NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, Louisiana. After earning a top-ten result in their first event a month ago, the duo had reset their goals heading into the race weekend in an effort to climb their way up the results sheets.
“We really want to improve on our results from Sonoma and once again be the best Toyota in class,” explained Lucas, who would do battle in the Pro/Am class. “I think we have put in the work off the track, and I am confident that we will see the results on track.”
With a pair of practice sessions kicking off the weekend, Lucas and Plumb were classified in the seventh position in both as they showed consistency in their Hattori Motorsports prepped Toyota GR Supra GT4 machine. Qualifying would see the entry drop one position to eighth in class as they would start Saturday’s wheel-to-wheel from the outside of row four.
With the green flag flying on Saturday afternoon, Lucas and Plumb were able to keep their nose clean and stay out of trouble. Showing great pace in only their second event as a driver combination and team, the #016 entry advanced forward two positions to finish sixth and achieved both of the desired goals on the weekend.
Lucas added, “We improved our results and were the best of the Toyotas. Looking forward to tomorrow!”
Returning to the track on Sunday for the second race of the weekend, Seth Lucas and Matt Plumb repeated their performance from the day prior. Once again finishing sixth, Lucas and Plumb put their Toyota GR Supra GT4 as the top Toyota in class earning their third top-ten result of the season and valuable points towards the end of the year championship total.
“A great weekend for myself, Hattori Motorsports and Toyota,” added Lucas. “A solid weekend with our career best finishes only makes us hungrier for the future. Can’t wait for the next one!”
It will be another three weeks before Seth Lucas is back on track as he shifts his focus to the Virginia International Raceway over the June 17-19 weekend. Follow the Seth Lucas Racing social media pages for news, information, photos, and announcements throughout the 2022 season.
