Upon returning from a successful preseason test in Portimão, Portugal, Seth Lucas, a 17-year-old race car driver, is geared up for an exhilarating 2024 season. Set to dominate the tracks, Lucas will compete in the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship in LMP2 alongside fellow driver Dennis Anderson for MDK Motorsports and High Class Racing. Seth Lucas also has set his sights on the Asian Le Mans Series in LMP3 with driver and owner of High Class Racing, Anders Fjordbach, in partnership with MDK Motorsports.
Seth Lucas competed in the 2023 IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship in LMP3 with Ave Motorsports and is eagerly anticipating being behind the wheel of a prototype once again. Reflecting on his upcoming ventures, Seth Lucas shared, “It’s exciting to be back in the high- speed world of the Prototype class,” said Seth Lucas. “Racing for MDK Motorsports is an exciting venture for me and one that I’m glad to continue being a part of for the upcoming 2024 season.”
MDK Motorsports owner and accomplished driver Mark Kvamme expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Seth joined MDK as a very new driver and demonstrated remarkable progress on track while consistently prioritizing both speed and preserving the car. I have never seen a driver develop so rapidly without damaging the car. I look forward to watching his continued progress this season!”
Seth's partnership with MDK Motorsports, which commenced earlier this year, marked his inaugural year being professionally behind the wheel of a Porsche. The team is at the forefront of piloting German marque’s cars, featured prominently in premier events like the GT World Challenge America. MDK Motorsports will also be vying for top honors in the IMSA GTD division for the 2024 Season.
At a mere 17 years old, Seth Lucas is already making waves in the world of motorsports. Since his first victory at 14 in the GT4 sportscar race at Homestead Miami Speedway, Lucas has secured numerous podiums at SRO tournaments such as the Circuit of the Americas, VIR, and Road America.
Seth will continue his technical partnership with Motul lubricants for the team, contributing to the testing and development of their latest racing products, including the Motul 300V engine oil and RBF 700 brake fluids, in the most demanding race environments. "Seth Lucas has been a great partner and we are excited for the opportunity to continue our support for the new program," said Nolan Browning, Marketing Manager at Motul USA. "The best showcase of our products is when put to the test, Seth continues to assist with our developments and reach the podium in the process." The distinctive liveries of the LMP2 and LMP3 will showcase the iconic colors of Motul, MDK, and Seth Lucas Racing—dominated by the timeless combination of white and red.
