PODIUM RESULT FOR SETH LUCAS IN INDIANAPOLIS TO CLOSE HIS 2023 RACE SEASON

The final event of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS season saw a class podium finish and a move up in the championship for the MDK Motorsports duo of Seth Lucas and Trenton Estep, who were joined for the Indianapolis 8-Hour by Matteo Cairoli. Closing the weekend on the third step of the podium, the Motul USA-branded MDK Motorsports machine also finished third in the end-of-the-year championship.

In a competitive and challenging qualifying session on Friday, Lucas, Estep, and Cairoli qualified 16th overall. However, the eight-hour race provided the MDK Motorsports team plenty of opportunity to move forward. By the time Lucas finished his second stint, the team was running consistently near the top-ten after some good overtakes on track and excellent pit stops and driver changes. The duo of Lucas and Estep finished eighth overall and third in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Pro class, grabbing a final podium to round out the 2023 race season.

“It was a good weekend overall,” explained Lucas. “We finished the season with another good result, and we get to add a podium finish at the Indianapolis 8-Hour to our resume.”

A strong finish in Indianapolis also meant Lucas and Estep moved up in the championship standings, grabbing third and finishing on the end-of-the-year championship podium.

Lucas continued, “MDK Motorsports and Porsche have given us incredible support, and I’m glad we were able to get a strong result in the championship. While my plans are yet to be determined for 2024, I think this season has proven that I can run with the best drivers in North America.”
