SETH LUCAS LOOKS TO GO OUT WITH A BANG IN THE SEASON FINALE AT THE INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

It’s been quite the season for rookie breakout star Seth Lucas in the GT America Powered by AWS series. Having raced in the Pirelli GT4 America program for the first half of the season, Lucas has spent the second half of the year focusing all his efforts on the GT America Championship. This weekend he will give it everything he’s got in the season finale at the renowned Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Lucas currently sits sixth in championship points, an amazing feat having only been able to score points in seven out of the possible fourteen rounds already completed. In his first weekend racing solely in the GT America race, the 16-year-old driver piloted his Toyota Supra to a podium sweep at the Watkins Glen International Raceway and is eager to do it again this weekend to gain all the last-minute championship points he can.

“We may not be fighting for the championship this year, but the goal is to win,” explained Lucas. “Sitting sixth in the series title chase and having only raced half of the races up to this point shows that we are doing something right, and hopefully we can carry that into Indy this weekend and the 2023 race season.”

Since he isn’t fighting for the championship in 2022, Lucas will be chasing GT America race wins while he also participates in the International GT Challenge 8-hour race at IMS this weekend. The Indianapolis 8-hour race is part of an endurance program that visits the USA on occasion each season.

Lucas added, “This is a great opportunity for me to get some extra time on track and in a different car make, and since I’m not in the running for the championship the goal is to gain as much experience as possible and push hard to earn a win!”

Seth Lucas will hop behind the wheel of a Lamborghini in Indianapolis over the five-day event driving alongside Jason Harward and Jason Daskalos under the Zelus Motorsports banner.

Lucas will take to the smooth road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway starting this Thursday for one last round of practice sessions this year before qualifying and racing throughout the rest of the weekend. He will partake in dual GT America races, one Friday and one Sunday, as well as the Indianapolis 8-hour race on Saturday.
