A PAIR OF TOP-TEN RESULTS FOR GT AMERICA DRIVER SETH LUCAS AT THE SEBRING INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

It was a trying event for Seth Lucas at the Sebring International Raceway. Taking on the bumpy Florida facility and the GT America Powered by AWS program, Lucas piloted his Motul USA branded Hattori Motorsports #016 to a pair of top-ten results as he managed to advance forward in both wheel-to-wheel races on the weekend.

“It wasn’t the best weekend for us on the results sheets, but I continue to learn and gain experience which will help me in my quest for a championship in 2023,” explained Lucas. “A huge thank you to the team and all our partners. We will be back better and stronger.”

After a test day on Friday, it was straight into qualifying Saturday morning prior to the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend. With 17 drivers competing in the GT4 class, Lucas slotted himself in the middle of the pack with a ninth-place effort. Starting the first race of the weekend from the inside of row five, Lucas leveled up one position before the mid-race distance to eighth, the position in which he finished.

Returning to the track Sunday and once again starting ninth, it was a better race for the Motul USA machine as a few moves early on slotted Lucas into the seventh position. As the race continued, the teenager from Ohio was able to grab one more position before the final checkered flag flew, crossing the stripe in sixth.

Lucas added, “I always want to win so eighth and sixth place results are not what I am aiming for, however, this just makes me even hungrier to be back on the podium at my next event.”

With a few weeks off, Seth Lucas will be back in the driver’s seat at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the October 7-9 weekend. Not only will Seth finish his GT America Powered by AWS program, but he will also co-drive in the Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli Indianapolis 8-Hour behind the wheel of a Lamborghini GT3. Stay tuned for more news coming soon.
